A very comfortable well-appointed hotel in one of the most beautiful villages in Dorset. Deep in Tess country the drawing room of this splendid Georgian house was designed by Thomas Hardy. Sunday lunch - last orders 1.30 pm. Dinner . Weekend breaks at special rates, includes breakfast, cream tea and dinner. There is a heated outdoor swimming pool and croquet lawn. Not a good place for very small children by their own admission. Dogs by prior arrangement. The food is absolutely delicious.

Stunningly situated behind the famous Chesil Beach, a really comfortable hotel with a really good atmosphere. Country-style, honestly authentic. Order at the bar from an extensive menu - excellent fish, mouthwatering movies - or go upstairs to the restaurant for something posher and dearer. Children's menu. Vegetarians. Garden with adventure bits. Skittle alley. Beers 6X and Warsteiner. Good wine. Order Sunday lunch between 12-2 pm. Cream teas every day between 3 pm and 5 pm. Cannot be too highly recommended.
